Hospital Control Returned To City

MILTON WV The Morris Memorial Hospital trustees voted to turn control back to Milton after declaring no future need for the hospital. Polio patients were treated there for 20 years under a lease. only 10 patients remain. The town council will decide the hospital’s fate, while an offer from the West Virginia Methodist Conference to operate it as an elderly treatment center was previously rejected.

Rescue teams battled a mine fire at Island Creek Coal Co Holden 22 eight miles from Logan West Virginia.
