Oscar A Knerr of Fayetteville died Thursday in Montgomery hospital He was born December 26 1884 in Jobanon Pennsylvania and worked fifty years for New River and Pocahontas Consolidated Coal Co He is survived by his wife a son two daughters nine grandchildren six great grandchildren and other relatives The funeral is set for 11 am Saturday at Dodd Payne Funeral Home Chapel with burial at High Lawn Memorial Park Oak Hill Rose Lee Alderson 82 of 218 Fairview Ave died at 1 20 am after a short illness She was born in Maine April 7 1886 and lived in Beckley for 17 years She was a Memorial Baptist Church member Survivors include a son a brother a sister five grandchildren and three great grandchildren Funeral services will be held 1 pm Sunday Melton Mortuary Chapel with Rev L A Garten officiating Burial at Alderson Cemetery Hix Friends may call after 5 pm Saturday

Jeffiington of Beaver was exonerated by a Raleigh County Circuit Court jury from liability in a $10,000 suit brought by Miss Maude Virginia Riddle of Beckley alleging he blasted an old wooden septic tank damag ing her home. The trial showed nearby metal tanks were pumped by a local plumbing firm but dates and actions place Pennington elsewhere. He was ordered to recover his costs from the plaintiff.
