Services Friday For Dr Laird Hospital Founder
Funeral services for Dr William Ramsey Laird 72 of Montgomery will be held Friday at 2 p m at Montgomery Presbyterian Church with burial in Montgomery Memorial Park at London. The notable physician founded Montgomery Hospital in 1938 and established the Laird Foundation in 1940 supporting medical care in rural areas. He died Tuesday of a heart ailment at his Montgomery hospital. Born June 28, 1890 in Nicholasville Kentucky, he trained at Washington and Lee University and the Medical College of Virginia before serving as chief surgeon at Shelterin Arms Hospital in Hansford Virginia.
