Howard Cook of Oceana and his son James Dow Cook attended funeral services for Wooster Cook, 76, held Wednesday in Union Monroe County. The deceased had been a Wyoming County resident and later lived near Union for 25 to 30 years. In Fayetteville, Elmer Daniels, deputy county clerk, remains in critical condition at Laird Memorial Hospital with liver and heart ailments. his son Jack Daniels has come from Minneapolis and another son Elmer Jr. from California.

Preston and Mrs. Jack Preston purchased two buildings and surrounding property in Mullens from Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Cooper for about 10000 dollars. The buildings house the Superior Block Company, formed in 1946 by Preston and partner George Thornton. Thornton later sold out, leaving Preston with a half share and partners Chando O'Dell and Avery Dixon each holding a quarter. O'Dell and Dixon bought half of the business building and property from Preston for 5000 dollars total. The plant on Moran Avenue plans expansion and modernization.
