State Job Total Dropping Again In West Virginia
West Virginia non farm employment fell by 16,300 in the mid January period, placing total non farm jobs at 431,400 and 27,400 below January 1960. Miracle crash spares ground casualties near Mount Clemens
Five Air Force crew members died when a KC97 tanker crashed after takeoff from Selfridge Air Force Base, exploding and burning on a busy highway. Officials said despite the flames and spill of 6,000 gallons of jet fuel, it was a miracle no one on the ground was killed. The pilot guided the craft to the most vacant area before impact.
