Lillybrook Mines To Reopen Under Raleigh Pocahontas Co
Raleigh Pocahontas Mining Corp has purchased Lillybrook Coal Co outstanding stock and will reactivate Lillybrook No 3 mine by month end. Plans include rebuilding the Affinity tipple and preparation plant to process coal from Affinity Killarney and Lillybrook No 3, with production set to begin soon and output of 2 to 30 thousand tons monthly from No 3. The firm aims to revive multiple mines and operate under a West Virginia holding company.

Clarence G. Peregoy of Woodrow Wilson High School earned the 1960 Teacher of the Year honor chosen by the Southern District of the West Virginia Federation of Woman's Clubs. The statewide award will be announced at the federation convention March 17 in White Sulphur Springs The Greenbrier. Peregoy is part of a eight-county selection and was praised by Mrs. Wayne Reynolds. He is a candidate for state Teacher of the Year and a member of a district accreditation team.
