Eddie Harvit as president with Fred Joseph as vice president Danny Branham secretary and Ted Bsharah treasurer at a Press Club meeting It was voted to fund Miss Emma Kelley and her father’s trip to Raleigh County beauty pageant July 8 Kelly named Miss Whitesville 1956 and will compete for Miss Raleigh County Harvit and Tommy Wilkerson to attend a Madison Chamber meeting June 26 to plan Boone County Homecoming August 5 with Governor Marland Congressman Mollohan and Cecil Underwood among attendees.

Sid Pettry 74 of Naoma dies after extended illness. Funeral at 2 p.m. Wednesday at his residence with Rev. Mont Carr officiating. Burial in Burl Pettry Cemetery. Survived by widow Maude, five daughters, three sons, a brother, four half sisters, 48 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Body moved from Armstrong Funeral Home to residence at 4 p.m. today.

Two Man Residents Hurt in Car Wreck
MONROE Slone 16 of Man admitted to Man Memorial Hospital Wednesday at 12 05 am for contusions and lacerations after an automobile crash. Oscar Slone 22 of Man also injured with lacerations to the nose scalp forehead and lower lip. Both are listed in satisfactory condition by attendants.

Brothers Sentenced On Theft Charges
In Princeton, a 16 year old Ingleside boy and his 10 year old brother were sentenced to a state industrial school by Judge Walter V. Ross in Juvenile Court for entering the General Auto Store and stealing five pistols and an air rifle. All weapons were recovered by city police. Earlier, the brothers were arrested for stealing bicycles. The 10 year old fled in court but was caught nearby.
