Two Americans held on $100,000 bail in sabotage plot

Bernard J. Brous 51 and Dale Chris Jensen 33 were jailed in San Diego on $100,000 bail each after being charged with conspiracy to sabotage two micro wave towers and a relay station in Utah and Nevada on May 28. They were arrested aboard Brous' yacht in Ensenada, Mexico, and handed to FBI in San Diego for arraignment.

Reds U S Start Arms Race Talks In Washington

The United States and Russia open talks at the State Department to end the deadlock hindering halting the global arms race. John J. McCloy and Valerian Zorin meet to decide attendee nations for general East-West disarmament talks and to outline the framework for discussions starting July 31.

New FAA Glide Slope Lights Unveiled at LaGuardia

The FAA unveiled the first installation of a visual glide slope indicator system at LaGuardia Airport costing 80000 dollars. British engineers developed the device now being manufactured in the United States. Four light bars on each runway side show white when high red when low and mixed red and white on a perfect approach. The system aims to reduce fatal and non fatal landing incidents.

Sunny and warm in West Virginia with highs in the lower 80s and lower 90s in the south. Tonight will be fair with lows in the upper 50s. Tuesday brings partly cloudy skies with possible thundershowers and temperatures about 2 to 3 degrees below normal. Continued warmth Tuesday followed by cooler days midweek. Thundershowers may total about a half inch Tuesday afternoon through weekend. Beckley and Oak Hill reports show variable highs and lows. River conditions indicate Greenbrier and Lake near normal with cloudy conditions and gate activity noted. Gauge at Rea near 28 feet.

Three-Way Rail Merger Possible But Not Now Tuohy Says

Walter J Tuohy president of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad told an ICC hearing on the C and O B and O merger that a Central C and O B and O combination is impossible at this time while a future three-way merger remains possible. He added that a Central alignment with C and O and B and O could be explored later if the two Lines merge, but warned that any forced three-way tie would kill the idea.

Capsule, Divers Await Pickup In Pacific Today

In Honolulu UPI reports a 300 pound Discoverer capsule, fifth recovered from space, resting in a life raft after divers retrieved it from the Pacific. They await pickup by amphibious plane or destroyer to return the gold plated capsule to scientists for study. Capsule was released on the 33rd pass of Discoverer XXV, launched Friday from Vandenberg AFB into polar orbit.

Drowning Toll Rises Across 13 States This Weekend

False Swearing Charges Against Fair Dismissed

A false swearing indictment against former State Police Superintendent Hazen H Fair of Moundsville was dismissed by Kanawha County Intermediate Judge William J Thompson on the prosecutor s motion.
