Nine-County Youth Conference Slated This Weekend
Youth conference for ages 15 to 19 spans nine West Virginia counties Raleigh Fayette McDowell Logan Mercer Wyoming Boone and more. Key speaker Rev C Merry Kehm from Grace Reformed Church will address the gathering with films panels and a late-night dance by the band Midnight Beats. Registration starts Thursday with sessions on personality development and time for knowing followed by discussions featuring Rev Jim Franklin and others. Raleigh County medical society will host a Thursday evening meeting at Sony's Restaurant featuring Dr Gustave T Anderson a retired U S Navy captain and dermatologist as guest speaker He will discuss tattooing from actinic procedure through histology complications and removal and share photos from a career that spanned U S Navy service Korea and Vietnam era duties He has held dermatology residencies in San Diego Philadelphia and at U S Naval Hospital Portsmouth Va currently practicing in Annapolis Md and teaching at Georgetown Univ He is decorated with the Legion of Merit Bronze Star and other honors and is a member of multiple medical associations The program will begin with a dinner at 8 18 p m with Anderson’s talk afterward
