Farm Bureau Organizes Blue Ribbon Garden Club
The Farm Bureau in Raleigh County plans a Blue Ribbon Garden Club to meet Bureau standards rather than compete with farmers. Membership requires conserving tomatoes, dusting potatoes to deter leaf hoppers, and growing diverse vegetables for year round nutrition. Applications via post card to the Farm Bureau are invited, with a fall score sheet to determine ribbon and certificate eligibility for 1946. The program quotes health as the ultimate goal of Sardening. Mt Tabor 4 H Club hosted a parental meeting featuring a felmato production panel and junior-led session led by Frank Shumate.

Jurors to decide land dispute over Glenn River tract
A Circuit Court jury is expected to rule this afternoon in a $20,000 damage suit by Frank Massie against Dr. W. H. Caffee and G. S. Williams. Massie claims payment of $3,500 for land near Glenn on the coast river, subdivision into 58 sites, and improvements totaling $800, but asserts he did not receive full conveyed title. He contends the land title lay with James E. Calfee, son of Dr. Caffee, who was in the Army in Japan when deeds were drawn. He seeks $20,000 damages in addition to the original stake.
