Good Bass Season Predicted For 47 By Bob Wills
The 1947 fishing season opens at 12:01 a.m. June 29 with expectations of a banner year thanks to increased forage fish stocking during 1945 and 1946. Open seasons cover bass, pickerel, muskalonge, wall-eyed pike and many non-game fish. bass carryovers and larger stocked fish promise better catches. Local notes include a trout fine and details on Esquire Magazine’s All American Boys Baseball Game in Chicago.

At Home Cookery: Mor Kabobs and Roll-Ups Guide
Informal recipe notes describe Mor prepared as kabobs and roll-ups for a picnic. Steps include slicing Mor into pieces, layering with onion and bacon on skewers, and rolling Mor around pickle and cheese slices secured with toothpicks before roasting over glowing coals.
Picnic Fire Safe Outdoor Cooking Tips
Let the fire die down and cook the Mor Kabobs and Mor Rell-Ups over glowing coals to heat meat through without charring the outside. Allow plenty of time since outdoor cooking takes longer than a kitchen. Let each person cook his own food for a fun picnic and have plans in case storms. Oven heating is also possible if preferred.
