Fayette County Tax Assessments Rise by 538 Thousand
Fayette County local assessments for the new fiscal year total 60,148,380, with public utility valuations at 39,230,500. The overall rise of 538,110 boosts potential levy power but, under 1933 tax limits, higher totals may not increase tax rates. The change shifts how boards of education receive state aid and adjusts county budgets and levies.
