Dogs Track Slayings Suspect With German Shepherds
Two German shepherds Apache and Smokey were brought to Mill Creek Two near Erie to aid the manhunt for the Shade Gap slayer of 10 year old Christine Watson. The dogs and trainer Thomas McGinn combed a creek area where Christine was found slain after being lured by a black haired mustachioed man offering minnows. Police held two teenage girls for protection, and several men were questioned with no arrests yet. The dogs previously helped track kidnapper William Lollenbaugh in May 1966, leading to a gunbattle and his death.
