Drowning Death Near Morgantown In Farm Pond

Mrs Daisy Kay Scarbro 58 Route 1 Scarbro was killed in a two car accident Monday about 20 miles north of Beckley on the West Virginia Turnpike. She worked for Host International Inc Morton and was en route to work. Born April 10 1914 at Scarbro she was the daughter of the late Clark and Letha Stover. She is survived by six sons and two daughters, two brothers, two sisters and 18 grandchildren. Burial will be in Rhinehart Cemetery Scarbro with services at Tyree Finneral Home Oak Hill.

Court to Hear Appeal Over Rest Home Zoning Decision

The bench will hear an appeal by Moundsville City Manager James Wolfe over a rest home zoning dispute. Wolfe twice refused to grant a variance for Gladys Forbes at 1207 Short Center St. The Board of Zoning Appeals and circuit court upheld him, then approved the 1971 request and occupancy, before the appeal reached the state Supreme Court.

West Virginia Boards Share Antitrust Settlement Funds

Attorney General Chauncey Browning Jr. announced WV distributed 77 864 to boards of education from an antitrust settlement with publishing firms. Earlier 182 166 was collected. Each board’s share based on its percentage of state public school enrollment in 1966 67.
