Damage Cases End In Court Today In Fayetteville

Four prisoners left Fayette County Jail for the State Penitentiary at Moundsville. They include Howard Neal for arson, James Chesterfield Petete Woods for theft, Harry Alfred Bradbury for probation violation, and Edwin E. Dolin for forgery counts. New suits filed include several divorce actions. A pair of civil suits against Murdock Lumber Co. seek damages for injuries from a truck collision in October. Mt Hope man charged after Route 19 collision

Paul Edward Bragg of Mt Hope pleaded guilty to driving on the wrong side of the road after a two car crash on Route 19 Powell's Mountain. Seven people injured including Thomas D. Gillispie and Bob Mollohan. Bragg arraigned before Magistrate E R Dotson.

Honaker Rites Planned After Bellepoint Death

Eliott A. Honaker 75 was found dead in his Bellepoint porch glider Thursday afternoon. Funeral services set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Rock Camp Monroe County with burial planned. Survived by five sons, two daughters, two brothers, two sisters, 22 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mullens Delays Sewage Plan As Railway Moves Interfere

Mullens city officials put off a planned August meeting with bond reps after engineer W D Kelly cited Virginian Railway work that blocks survey work for the proposed city wide sewer system. He said river fills and site shifts jeopardize the sewer main route and the treatment plant site delaying financing and construction. The council also heard parking complaints from C C Ritchie Jr and Paul Ritchie about restrictions in front of their frozen custard stand and called for enforcement and street clearance improvements.

Wyoming District Boy Scouts First Roundtable Meeting

Mullens hosts the Wyoming County District Boy Scouts roundtable on Monday at Pineville High School. District Chairman John Tice announced committee chairs and six assistant commissioners. Mugridge reported 10 new units this year and 580 scouts in 135 units. Summer camp troops 115 Ruppertson 125 Glen Rogers 157 Lynco 127 Wyea attended. Planning for a district fundraising campaign runs mid September to October 31.

Truck Driver Fined On Lengthy Vehicle Charge

A Kansas truck driver named Donald Clay Bross was fined $25 and costs by Magistrate R. C. Godsey after an arrest on Route 21 for driving a vehicle exceeding the 55 foot length limit.
