Wyoming County Board Buys Its Own Office Building
The Wyoming County Board of Education decided to purchase its current office from R D Bailey for 40000 dollars, paying half this year and half next, using interest from school bond funds amounting to 40243 dollars. The move saves 65200 versus building anew, with bids from Elk Refining Co and Pure Oil for gasoline and oil under consideration. The health department budget received approval, veterans retraining at Pineville Trade School was approved, and the board will continue signing checks by mechanical device only with board approval. D W Hollinger was retained for another year and other staff over 65 may be kept. A Sheltera ll Co bus-shelter proposal was rejected, with 40000 dollars expected from funds in the next decade for the same purpose. Mrs Morris Brooks property near Glenn Fork Elementary was rejected for sale. A new textbook committee was named: Sandy Basham, Ina Elliott, Kenney Hatfield, Corda Thompson, Viola Jenkins.
