Edelman Rites Slated Sunday
Funeral services for Robert Donald Edelman will be held at 2 p m Sunday in Sylvester Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Carpet Woods officiating. Burial follows at Montgomery Memorial Park London. Edelman 39 died in a Charleston hospital after a long illness. He was a coal miner and World War I veteran. Survivors include wife Alma, mother Mamie Edelman, two daughters Sharon Gall and Marsha Lynn, five brothers George Pete and Baron and four sisters. Body moved from Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville to residence earlier today.

Fayetteville and Beckley based members of Company C 497th Engineer Battalion finish the second week of summer training at Camp Breckinridge Kentucky. The unit built a 70 foot Bailey Bridge with 40 ton capacity and practiced bridge work, mine field doctrine, and weapons handling. Three Oak Hill men faced prosecution after a prank at a Summerlee area home led to a resident firing and wounding Frank Norosky. Norosky, shot in the abdomen, underwent surgery and is listed in good condition. Suspects Larry Dotson, Frank Norosky, and Dave Hartenstein gave conflicting stories.
