Farm Sale Stopped By An Injunction
The Raletuh Dairy company led by president John R. Smith of Daniels obtained a court injunction blocking the Charleston Production Credit association from selling about 500 dollars of the dairy’s equipment at the Guyanotte dairy farm in Shady Spring. The order followed discovery that Holdren’s farm assets were listed in the sale to cover Holdren’s debts and that the company had contracted Holdren to run the farm. The chancery action named the credit association Anna J. Wood trustee Ruth Leana Holdren and W D Holdren Jr among the defendants. The injunction halted the sale as 45 cows and other dairy equipment had already been auctioned to local farmers.
