Moose Women Install Officers In Whitesville Chapter

Whitesville Chapter 552 of Women of the Moose installed officers with E C Hodge succeeding her sister Mrs Charles Lewis as senior regent. New officers included Emmitt Peters junior regent and Rafael Jey recorder, plus appointees Loretta Kyle Argus sentinel C A Sloan guide A C Lewis assistant guide. Ten standing committee chairs were named by Senior Regent Hodge for the year ahead.

VFW Auxiliary Plans Swim Party at Fayette County Camp

The VFW Auxiliary plans a swimming party for their July 19 meeting at the Fayette County 4-H Camp. Mrs. DB. C. Rapp Jr. was named publicity chairman at Wednesday’s meeting. Mrs. Rapp and Mrs. W. H. Gwinn lead the swim event. an auxiliary dance is to be scheduled later.

Glen Rogers Boy Dies of Polis Rites Saturday

Eugene Madison Bailey 16 of Glen Rogers died last night of acute bulbar polio at Marmet hospital. Funeral services set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Glen Rogers Community Church with Rev. O A Lamb officiating. Burial in Pinegrove Cemetery Ravencliff. Bailey an honor student at Glen Rogers High School, survived by parents Dennie and and Mrs Bailey, a brother Dickie and sisters Brends Joyce and Diana. The county reports a polio death the first in years, following earlier victim Patrick James Green Mullens Hill now at Marmet. Body to be taken to residence at 5:30 p m today.

Pastor's Son Unconscious After Park Accident

Wally Pharr, 14, son of Dr and Mrs W W Pharr of Mt Hope, remains unconscious at Oak Hill Hospital after sustaining a severe head injury from a fall from a truck while visiting Babcock State Park. Attendants report little change in his condition.

Mrs E M Tutwiler 56 of Mt Hope died Thursday at Oak Hill Hospital from a cerebral hemorrhage. Funeral services set for 10 30 a m Saturday at her residence with Dr W W Pharr officiating. Miss Susan Josephine Smith Weds Samuel W Titta

The wedding at Mullens First Baptist Church joined Miss Susan Josephine Smith and Samuel William Titta in a single wing ceremony. The bride wore a blue nylon marquisette dress and carried a white orchid amid gladioli and pink accents. The groom is the son of Mrs. Mary G. Titta of Bud. Best man was Carl Titta. The couple planned a Cocoa Florida honeymoon after a reception at the Smith home. The bride is a Herndon High School graduate and the groom works as a machinist's helper for the Elmore Shops of the Virginian Railway.

Dr Fox Rites Slated Saturday At Ansted Home

Funeral services set for 2 p m Saturday for Dr Sarah Fox 60 who died at his Ansted home after a heart attack. Rev Charles Stephinson will officiate burial at Highlawn Memorial Park with Hayden Lodge 113 Masons conducting graveside rites. Survived by wife Emby two sons Sarah O Fox Jr John O Fox four grandchildren and his parents Dr George W Fox and Ada Fox. Dr Fox president of the National Bank of Ansted and a Sewell Royal Arch Mason member. He studied at University of Kentucky and earned medical degree in 1910 from Maryland.
