Editorial Weighs Saunders Salary Increase
An editorial note questions whether Superintendent John Saunders should get a salary raise at tonight’s Board of Education meeting. Rumors say the raise could reach two thirds, with disputes over offers from elsewhere and whether the board will extend his contract beyond its one year. Teachers compare Raleigh County Master’s degree pay to ten counties, arguing raises for teachers should come first given the data from 1962 63 and 1964 65.
