Portraits and a restless mind of Sir Winston Churchill
An obituary style reminiscence notes Churchill as a frail yet enduring figure. It highlights his royal academy status, honorary US citizenship, and paintings valued around ten thousand dollars each. It recalls his 1915 shift after the Dardanelles failure, his stubborn interview sting, and earning a living from age 21 without a salary. It ends with reflections on his wealth, heirs, and the Shakespearean line about not seeing his like again.

Supreme Court action on conspiracy and conflict of interest cases
The 4th Circuit upheld re trial on seven counts of a Johnson case under the conflict of interest statute, noting the indictment alleged conspiracy not bribery. Earlier Johnson had six months in jail and a $5,000 fine. Boykin paid a fine and did not appeal. The court also let stand a ruling allowing community antenna systems, Boise competition, and Florida East Coast Railroad strike practices under court supervision. The 9th Circuit reversed a district court finding on unfair competition and contract interference, and the Supreme Court declined to intervene.
