Jennings Wilson, arrested Saturday by Chief Tunney Hunsaker and Officer E L Tinsley on a speeding charge, was fined $10 and costs by Mayor M G Hresan Monday. appeal filed in circuit court.
The Rebels' Recreation Center in Mullens enters its second year with about 200 paid memberships for the 1937 58 season. It serves grades 8 12 from Mullens Maben and Jiman, opens 7 to 10 p m Fridays and Saturdays, and offers dancing, games, TV, snacks, and teen talks under adult advisory and paid director Lloyd Bright.
Mr and Mrs Acey Aliff of Lillydale announce the birth of their daughter Sandra Kaye weighing six pounds eight ounces born last Wednesday at Wilkersons Clinic in Pineville. Mrs Aliff is formerly Ella Mae Griffith.
The Robertson Jams Foglesong Funeral Home reports an ambulance was sent to the residence of Mrs Goldie Bishop in Baileysville after she became ill. She was transported to Stevens Clinic Hospital in Welch for treatment.
Police hunt for a second man connected to a spree of cap thefts at coal mines in Wyoming County. Fuller confessed to stealing 1500 caps from Lynca mine and 3000 from Island Creek coal Wyoming and Black Eagle mine cases. Salyers remains at large with a warrant issued. Whispers of a blue car and electric exploder caps prompted the investigation.
The Rev and Mrs Kenneth Maze and two children of Pineville dined with the Rev and Mrs Verner Morgan and family. Other Pineville visitors included Mrs Ernestine Phillips and her daughter Yvonne. A film titled The Younger Brother will be shown at First Christian Church on Feb. 1 at 7 30 p.m. Members donated birthday gifts for an adopted daughter at the Christian Children's Home in Cleveland Ohio. Mrs. McNeely provided refreshments for 10 members and one visitor Mrs. W F Moore.
Mr and Mrs Denver Cook of Lillydale announce the birth of their third child a son Rodney Doyle born January 10 at Man Memorial Hospital weighing nine pounds five ounces Mrs Cook is formerly Ruth Allen
Whitpsville RNS reports Boy Scout Troop 39 at Sharples reorganized with Don Belcher as troop committee chair and Ervin Castle as scoutmaster. Pine boys are registered and the troop is sponsored by the Sharples Booster Club. Named registrants include James Castle Russell Greenhill Charles Jeffrey Larry Keyser Charles Lane Jr Clifford Littleton Jr James Marfin Roger Woods and Holly Workman. Committee members listed are E L Moore H B Gloss and W E Byers.

Oak Hill Lions Club hosts annual Style Show on March 21 at the Oak Hill Elementary School auditorium to raise funds for glasses for needy individuals. local club members organize the event and proceeds go toward vision aid programs.
