NCAA Set to Ban Coaches From Pro Money
The NCAA expected to adopt a rule banning college coaches from accepting money from pro teams. Violations could lead to school suspension or probation. The measure follows reports of coaches being paid by professional teams for scouting and signing players. The convention also moved to soften the rule’s effective date and sought fellowship with AAU events in track and gymnastics. The Pro Relations Committee urged NFL and other leagues to delay drafts until after bowl games and to limit contact with players.
