The Oak Hill Scarbro Ministerial Association led Monday's Oak Hill Baptist Church meeting. They outlined a morning radio devotional schedule and planned visits to Cain High School Collins Junior High Oak Hill Elementary East End and Rosedale Elementary Schools. Rev William H Johnson was welcomed as new pastor of First Baptist Scarbro.

The marriage of Betty Jean Radford to Amos Pierce Lawson was announced by her parents. The ceremony occurred at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rev. Harry Pilkington s Allen Junction home with Pauline Radford and the groom s brother present. The bride wore a pale blue chromsoup acetate gown with a bolero and white accessories. The new Mrs Radford, a Maldens High School graduate of 1956, worked as a telephone operator until resigning Friday. Lawson, a plumber for Henry J Kalser Construction, attended Mullens High School and served in the Army, two years, with 19 months in Germany, discharged 1953. The couple will reside in Ripley.
Mayor H C Brown presided at the Oak Hill Rotary Club event in the Hotel Hill. Bob Daniels and Mrs Edward Totten Beckley performed songs including I Have Dreamed Namely You Old Man River You ll Never Walk Alone and a duet Why Do I Love You with piano accompaniment by Mrs Julia Secrist. Forty several members attended the gathering.
Oak Hill city council postponed action on an amusement tax until July after receiving December report from city manager W. R. Bennett. The review noted City Hall costs including Venetian blinds 76.57 dollars flags 48.40 and painting 259.02 with a new roof recommended.
