Ocean Trip To WV Puzzles West Virginia Editor
West Virginia Hillbilly editor Jim Comstock puzzled over how an ocean going ship could reach inland West Virginia after a German freighter delivered 1,268 compact cars to a California port and planned to load coal for Europe. He joked about greeting the vessel and noted WV’s inland accessibility limits via Potomac or Ohio river routes. The piece seems to conflate Virginia with West Virginia in a humorous mix up.
