Red Cross Drive to Begin Early, Mullens Rotarians Told
Mullens Rotarians heard that the Red Cross needs to start the 1949 campaign early to reach the county budget quota or risk dissolving the chapter. Jesse Morgan, superintendent of schools, noted the county already relies on a loan from national headquarters and has only one paid worker, executive secretary Mildred Martin. The club pledged 25 dollars toward the goal, while Eastern Sons and Fuel Association had given 300 dollars, with other donations expected.
