Burned to death 16 month old in Baileysville blaze
In Baileysville area, 16 month old Steve Morgan died in a fire at the Long Branch home Wednesday night while parents were at a neighbor's. MARLINTON ANS — A Nazarene minister Ray mond Carpenter and his wife Wanda face preliminary hearings at 4 p.m. Monday on abduction charges involving a missing 1-year-old Pocahontas County girl. Prosecutor Richard F. Currence said the couple were arrested after warrants by Samuel Lantz of Frank and bound over to the Pocahontas grand jury on earlier charges. The girl, Patricia Ellen Lantz, last seen alighting a school bus and entering a car occupied by the Carpenters, has not been heard from since.
