Fayette Attorney Urges More Funds for State University
Fayetteville attorney J. H. White told a joint Rotary meeting in Pineville that WVU needs larger budgets for 1953-55 to grow with state support. He defended the 1949-51 base and criticized the Board of Public Works and lawmakers for underfunding. White noted 5,000 students yearly plus 3,500 extension enrollments and urged citizens to lobby legislators to keep the pen tax to fund medicine.
