Valentine Meal for Two Hearts Cooked in Style
A Valentine menu from Cecily Brownstone offers a playful themed meal for two couples or a romantic pair. Start with tomato juice spiked with demon juice and Worcestershire, then heart shaped cheese crisps. Main is chicken a la king with mushrooms in a simple sauce, served over heart shaped bread toast. Dessert features heart shaped fruit tarts or frosted cakes.

Functional Furniture Need Stressed by Homemakers
CHICAGO The average American homemaker now calls the tune in the design and price of home furnishings according to furniture merchan-disers at the winter market. They favor modern California French and American provincial styles at fair prices. Executives from Haverty Furnishings Meriwether Gimble Brothers and Aldens report demand for small home friendly, well designed pieces, with Borax period designs fading. The trend favors casual design and affordable price points for young couples, though manufacturers remain cautious on overall cost. The dessert note is a quirky serving suggestion unrelated to the furniture item.
