Contractor Blames Witnesses Over Hawks Nest Silicosis
Rhinehart and Dennis president Faulconer alleged that most witnesses before the House labor sub committee misrepresented the Hawks Nest tunnel case. He urged a first hand look at the work and conditions to inform the committee. The sub committee planned to report to the full committee with recommendations for funding and subpoenas. Rhinehart and Dennis officials declined to present their side. Representative Marcantonio asserted 675 workers died from silicosis on the project.
