Mrs. Sadie Adkins of Abraham died in an Oak Hill nursing home on Monday. Born October 16 1683 in Sewell she was the daughter of the late Matthew Tincher and widow of Jacob Adkins who died in February 1967. Survivors include one foster son Tearal Jones of Buckeye Lake Ohio four stepdaughters 26 stepgrandchildren 72 step great grandchildren and 20 step great great grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at Webb and Neal Funeral Homes.
Senator Jennings Randolph of West Virginia announced a bill to restrict foreign steel shipments to the United States. He said the aim is orderly marketing of imported steel, not protectionism, and to give foreign suppliers a fair share while stabilizing the U S steel industry facing rising foreign market share.
Rep. Ken Hechler charged undercover UMW officials seek to remove black lung health provisions from mine safety legislation. He called for unified action to push stronger safety standards, citing 40 000 West Virginians needing humane, safer coal mine conditions. Titler favored separate bills to ease passage.
Raleigh County Clerk Fred T. Stacy announced a supply of 1909 West Virginia fishing regulations in his office. The folders include dates and limits for fish in West Virginia streams and lakes and contain the state stream stocking schedule.
Cora McAllister of Beckley filed in Raleigh County Circuit Court for damages claiming 266.95 for car repair and 100 for loss of use after a collision with Rose Fluccuzio on Fourth Street Beckley on March 3 1968. Her attorney is Robert B Sayre. her son David was driving.
Jurors serving the current term of Raleigh County Criminal Court are ordered to return for duty at 9 36 a.m. Thursday.
The 1969 Legislative Conference of the West Virginia Labor Federation will be held here Feb 12 with Rep. Carl D. Perkins D Ky as speaker. Perkins chairs the House Education and Labor Committee. More than 300 labor representatives are expected and will hear a briefing on labor’s proposed legislative program.

She is survived by daughters Easter Carey Stamford and Mary Seymore New York City one son Raymond Birmingham Ala one brother William Jones Birmingham 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. The body will be removed from the Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor to the residence at 4 p m today.
A Miami hijacking attempt ended safely with Michael Peparo and his girlfriend under $100,000 bonds. Separately in Kentucky, coed Cuba Hefley was found dead near the University of Louisville campus after a missing briefs spree, while a separate case involved a missing music student and a revolutionary computer device in Jowa.
Hearing set today as Senate and House consider a four-bill package to reorganize higher education. A proposed board of regents would oversee all education and separate boards would govern WVU Marshall and a combined board. Election law measures also advance in the Senate.

A 26 year old Skelton resident Bika pleaded guilty to attempted rape in Raleigh Johnson Sprague County. He and co defendants Walter James Lee Bika Calvin St Clair and David Lee faced charges. Sentencing set for February 25. St Clair and Johnson to be tried separately. Bika on bond, mother fainted in courthouse aisle. Court notes include unrelated civil service and county commission items.
