Fayetteville High School teacher Robert Richards will sing tenor solo in flander's The Messiah at First Baptist Church Princeton on Christmas night. This marks the third annual Princeton Civic Chorus union service for all churches. Richards, a 1946 Princeton High graduate, earned a 1949 biology and English degree from Concord College and joins the chorus after four years of participation and two years as a Messiah tenor soloist. He teaches English at Fayetteville High and has performed in church and school events, with prior drama work in Fayetteville.

Bond Granted For Princeton Slaying Suspect
Clyde Blanken ship, recently granted a new trial for the fatal shooting of James Dawson in Princeton on October 18, 1948, is free under a 3500 dollar bond. Bond posted Thursday in criminal court with Luther FE and Gladys Blankenship as sureties. January 2 was set for the new trial. Blankenship was convicted of second degree murder by a jury at the July term. Six couples receive licenses to marry. Mercer County Clerk issued six marriage licenses to Delbert Mills and Sylvia Flensley of Dott, Charles Rose and Edith Snapp of Princeton, Edwin Earl Owens and Elsie Kernan of Giado, Jean D. Westmoreland and Helen Irene Taylor of Montcalm, Charles Spradlin and Francis Louise Bailey of Ada, Joseph Walker and Freddie June Anderson of Princeton.

Rabies Vaccine Given to Greenbrier Residents
Five people in Greenbrier County are to undergo fourteen rabies preventive treatments after rabies was confirmed in cows owned by C. L. Patton and Charlie Sheppard near Weirler Ronceverte. Health officials note this is the first Greenbrier County case since 1935 and a stray dog linked to the outbreak reportedly bit one cow, with several residents exposed or potentially exposed.
