Jacob W. Bowers 88 retired businessman died at his Mabscott home from old age complications. He chaired roles with Beckley Water and the original electric company, owned Mabscott property leased to New River for mining, and was father to Samuel Bowers. Shirley Ann Daniels two year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Ben K Daniels of Glen Morgan died in a local hospital yesterday afternoon from swallowing lye.
