Two Captured After Escape From Alcatraz
SAN FRANCISCO UP I reports two inmates escaped from Alcatraz. D Lee Parker was captured 28 minutes later on a rock near the main island while John Paul Scott swam three miles to Fort Point. Scott reached the fort after making improvised water wings and was captured around 10:30 p.m. EST. He was treated for exposure at Letterman Army Hospital after being in the water at least an hour.
