Doctors Endorse Full Time County Health Officer Plan
At a Raleigh county Medical Society meeting last Friday the proposal for a full time county health officer and county public health nurse was endorsed. Dr Ziegler explained benefits, while Mrs H E Phipps urged cooperation for school children exams and tuberculosis education led by Miss N M Alvis. George C Rowell cited alarming defects among children in surveys, noting many underweight by 10 to 25 pounds. The program will be funded by Tuberculosis Christmas Seals and Health Bonds. $1,400 has been raised with over $3,000 more needed.
