Blough Attacks 32 Hour Week Policy
NEW YORK UPI Roger Blough chairman of U S Steel Corp attacked the 32 hour work week plan proposed by the United Steelworkers Union. Speaking at the Pennsylvania Society dinner he warned of economic oblivion from wage pushes and government spending. He argued reduced hours mean higher pay for less work and cited overseas costs to illustrate jobs losses. In HASLINGEN England a library reports vandalism of romance novels with the word love scratched out and pages removed, suspected by librarian Dorothy Worsely to be a female prankster.
