Health Care Foreign Doctor Bills Pushed
An organization in Charleston unveils two bills to ease foreign doctor restrictions and create prepaid health care groups. Patricia Brown of Shinnston will chair, Beatrice Rhody of Morgantown secretary. One bill would drop the three year residency requirement for WV licenses and allow non citizens to practice. The other would form non profit non stock corporations to contract with physicians to provide medical services to subscribers. Senate leader Moreland says prepaid care under group practice could be possible. corporations would be run by boards with majority subscribers and licensed by the state insurance commissioner. Dr. Rihelhaffer notes the measure would give people freedom to pay ahead for care.
