In Charleston West Virginia food stamps valued at 339040 were stolen from the Kanawha County Food Stamp Center. Burglars took 16502 of 20 books 750 of 10 books and 500 of 3 books. The theft lifted West Virginia’s total food stamps stolen in under a year to 535438. The loss was found Sunday at 3 pm by an employee returning to the office and reported to Mrs Grave Strain head of the program.

Credit Union Treasurer Pleads Guilty in Embezzlement Case
Kitty Guerrant former treasurer of Raleigh County Community Action Federal Credit Union pled guilty in Beckley federal court to embezzlement by writing a 200 check to her husband and cashing it while in office. She made restitution via an authorized loan and was placed on 18 months probation. Three men also pleaded guilty to charges related to interstate theft of motor vehicles, including one man tied to a car stolen in Richmond and another linked to a plane and truck theft.
