Police Beat Beckleyan Jailed For Shotgun Money Theft

A 627 year old Berkley man is jailed in a July 12 theft of a shotgun and 45 dollars from a car in Berkley. Willard Thomas Brown 377 Mankin Ave arrested on grand larceny at 6 05 p m by city police and town district constable Joseph H Greene. He allegedly stole a shotgun valued at 100 and cash from Edward Bowles Jr Whitesville. He waived grand jury action at arraignment before Magistrate Lorena Wallace and posted a 500 bond. Drunken Driving Beckley Police arrested Charles B Ferguson 23 of Sprague at 7 07 p m Thursday on four charges after a long night.

Strike Stops Production At 33 Mines In WV and PA

A labor strike idled about 15,000 miners as 33 coal mines in West Virginia and Pennsylvania halted shipments. The walkout began August 10 over a contract clause with Christopher Coal Co. No talks are scheduled and a UMW investigation panel is reporting to W A Boyle in Washington.

Californian Jailed for Drunken Driving After Traffic Stop

Rupert Blevins of Represa California was jailed by State Police at 10 05 pm Thursday on a drunken driving charge. He posted a 50 cash bond to Magistrate Rodriguez. A Glen Daniel man Huber Bowman was jailed by a deputy sheriff at 8 30 p m Thursday on a nonsupport warrant. A 17 year old Laurel Terr youth was arrested by a deputy sheriff.

Israelis Fire Over Jerusalem Crowd During Al Aqsa Protests

Israeli troops fired into the air to disperse stone throwing youths protesting the Al Aqsa Mosque fire. Demonstrations also erupted in Nablus and Syria reported air defenses intercepting Israeli jets near the ceasefire line.

Police mix up leads to girl jailed with boys in Atlantic City

B and O Service Cut For Parkersburg

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad will reduce passenger train frequency between Cumberland Maryland and Parkersburg West Virginia. Train Nos 31 and 32 were approved for discontinuation by the Interstate Commerce Commission after a study found an average of 10 passengers daily. The Circle H Ranch annual nudist show near Glen Gardner features a private amphitheater presentation in a 730 seat venue with a $100 license fee plus $25 per ton for private policing. After local dispute the township lowered fees to $59 yearly plus $3.56 per attendee. Attendance reaches about 900 with guests from ranch members and outside visitors.
