It reports that vaccination during rising polio incidence is advised, with protection outweighing provocation risk, based on a 1955 meeting of 26 experts. Incubation ranges from three to 35 days, typically about two weeks, and antibodies develop after vaccination but offer no protection if infection has already occurred.
