Paris reports say U S Ambassador Henry Cabot Lodge warned Hanoi Viet Cong that renewed Communist offensives in South Vietnam wreck peace hopes and may halt withdrawal of troops. He accused negotiators of violence and unwillingness to compromise as Viet Cong chief negotiator Madame Nguyen Thi Binh was away. The talks saw the US and South Vietnam press for mutual troop withdrawal and elections with VC participation amid a stalled session and absence of Binh.

Lennon Killing Remains Suspectless as All-Points Bulletin Issued
Jimmy Lennon, elder brother of the Lennon Sisters, says he believes the killer is a former mental patient from Colorado who threatened the family over a marriage dispute. Detectives have no firm suspect in the Marina Del Ray Golf Range murder of 53 year old Lennon, and an all points bulletin lists the assailant. Police say they would like to talk with the unnamed man who had previously threatened the sister and was once arrested by the Secret Service for threatening President Johnson.
