Test Tubes Take Over In Science Of Reproduction
Howard W Blakeslee reports the first artificial fertilization of human ova observed in Science journal. Harvard researchers John Rock and Michim Menkin, using test tube techniques, document early embryo development steps as eggs from women in their thirties were fertilized and began division. The study records clarify challenges in keeping eggs viable and sustaining sperm contact, noting initial divisions into two and subsequent cell formation, shaping early human conception.
