In Mullens, H O Slim Franklin waived preliminary hearing on murder charges in the death of Marshall Field at a Wyoming County mine, with Field dying after a party and a later fight at the clubhouse. Field’s death ruled from a skull fracture and hemorrhage. Franklin remanded to jail pending bond decision.
