Housewives Project Pays Off in Montreal Firm
Two Montreal housewives Dorothy Block and Rosa Dietcher built Dolls' Outfitters a thriving business that employs about 30 women many of them handicapped or blind. They design garments from home using Dietcher’s cellar as a workshop supplying large department stores across Canada and smaller shops. The firm began after a single ad drew over 200 replies, and the founders say the venture supports families without harming home life.
