Beckley Electric Light and Power plans an additional well about 1000 feet deep near Mabscott pumping plant to boost Beckley area water supply. A third well recently connected plus existing pumps have increased capacity and filtration upgrades are planned to further improve service. So far this season the supply remains ample.
Governor Morgan seeks extradition papers to return C. D. Moye to West Virginia. Moye abandoned his wife and children months ago and left Beckley with another woman. He was traced to Delaware and will be pursued once papers are obtained.
