Summer Mythology Theme At Fayette Fair Flower Show

The North Fayette County Fair in Lookout hosts a two day flower show August 9 and 10 with the theme Summer Mythology. Exhibits include horticulture sections for annuals and perennials, various rose types, gladioli, bulbs, house plants and artistic arrangements, plus junior and commercial exhibits and strict judging rules.

Wiseman Rites Slated Friday

Mrs Ida Mae Wiseman, 58, of Smithers, will be buried in Wengill Cemetery at Dixie after funeral services at Belle Creek Baptist Church in Dixie. She died at Montgomery hospital after a long illness and was a Bell Creek Baptist Church member. her husband J A Wiseman preceded her in death nine years ago.

Wreck Victim Dies of Injuries

Brown of Wilcoe in Dowell County died in a Bluefield hospital from injuries suffered when his car skidded on a wet U.S. 52 and collided with Grant Hubbard’s southbound vehicle from Princeton. Hubbard’s wife Margarilie Hubbard remains in serious condition with head injury, fractured pelvis, and broken hip.

Fayette singing convention set at First Baptist Church

The Fayette County singing convention will be held Sunday at the First Baptist Church at Laver's Leap. Secretary-treasurer Karl Taylor says the public and all special singers are requested to attend. He notes a record crowd at the state convention last weekend with 27 quartets and 25 groups performing.
