Vels Cannot Draw Two GI Benefits At Once
Veterans training order forbids receiving both unemployment and training benefits simultaneously for Korean War era GI programs. Harry W. Stewart of the local VA Office says simultaneous benefits are illegal. A veteran already in training is not considered unemployed, and unemployment requires active job seeking. If a veteran collects both and fails to return unemployment, penalties include a fine up to $1,000 or up to one year in jail.
