Tosh Tells Of Water Problems in Sophia
Public service commission hearing set for tomorrow at 11 in Sophia Town Hall to address water system woes. Mayor J K Tosh defends water rates and supplier, noting water is drawn eight miles from the Affinity plant of Pemberton Coal and Coke, delivered by gravity to storage tanks and the system. University officials will place notice in the next catalogue regarding the John Baker White trophy presented in 1933 to the best company of university cadets. White said he did not care what happened to the cup and suggested it be thrown into the Monongahela river. Major Baldwin accepted responsibility for the lack of mention of the trophy and defended military training amid student scrutiny, noting a peace poll showing majority support for training as required by the state.
