Osteopath asks court to dismiss doctors petition
In Wyoming Circuit Court Monday a case tests state law on osteopaths. Osteopath Glenn E. Cobb seeks dismissal of a petition by five Wyoming County doctors and the State Medical Licensing Board alleging osteopathic physicians cannot prescribe medicine or perform surgery. Cobb argues osteopaths have equal rights and that the petition fails to state a cause of action. He accuses the doctors of practicing medicine in ways different from their training and notes osteopaths serve 200,000 patients, with many in smaller towns.
