Broadcasters Hear Governor Hopefuls
In Morgantown the West Virginia Broadcasters Assn opened with speakers including WVU President Elvis J. Stahr Jr. and attorneys Douglas Annello and Benito Gaugine. Five candidates—Barron, J. Skeen, Hulett C. Smith, Harold Neely, and Chapman Revercomb—shared the platform amid campaign rhetoric in Ravenswood and other cities. Revercomb urged road upgrades, Barron focused on beautification and garbage cleanup, Neely denounced the primary process as fostering bigotry and hate with a Humphrey Kennedy-backed “phony” race.
